My top apps — I’ll be honest, at first I downloaded every app remotely related to the Camino Frances, but these two survived the cull:
- Camino Pilgrim: you can choose the number of days you have to walk Camino – and volia – detailed plan is ready. It provides you information on albergues along the route and their type, availability of restaurants and cafes, grocery stores, ATMs, drinking water fountains, medical services (pharmacy/hospitals) and public transport. There is also an interactive map.
- Buen Camino: my favourite app for route profile (I was staring in it for ascent and descent in Pyrenees for a long time), interactive map, general information, lists of albergues with ratings. You can also plan your daily stages here but it requires sign-up.
Buen Camino became my morning ritual: check the elevation profile, panic quietly, walk anyway…
